Team Kia signs Kevin Aabol for 2015 STCC

Team Kia has signed Norwegian driver Kevin Aabol for the 2015 Scandinavian Touring Car Championship season.
”Kevin tested for us last year and he was instantly fast and confident in his driving,” said Tobias Johansson, team manager of Team Kia.

The 21-year-old has driven Formula Renault Scandinavia since 2013 and finished second overall last year.
”I looked at several different championship but it takes a lot of money to succeed in the single seater championships. STCC is really well known in Norway, especially after Tommy Rustad’s success and the competition is really high in the championship,” said Aabol.

Aabol completed a test for the team at Karlskoga late last year and was pleased with his first impressions. His ambition for the coming season is to win races.
”Things worked straight off with the car and the team. The car feels a lot like a single seater. The learning curve is always great when coming to a new championship. But my goal most be to win races during the year,” said Aabol.
