Lada Sport Rosneft to undergo intensive test in Portugal

Following the return of the team’s two cars from Argentina, and the build of the third car for Mikhail Kozlovskiy, the Lada Sport Rosneft team will begin a four day testing programme next week at the Portimao circuit in southern Portugal.

The Russian squad are working on a number of developments for the Lada Vesta WTCC, which made its debut earlier this month at Termas de Río Hondo in Argentina, where James Thompson and Rob Huff put on a competitive showing with the all-new car, with Rob Huff setting the fastest time in the first part of qualifying, and with James Thompson securing pole position for the reversed grid race two, though both drivers came away from the weekend without scoring a point due to incidents with other drivers.

The team have so far only been able to test for a few days and shakedown the new car back at base at Magny-Cours. The Portimao test precedes all three drivers’ participation in the next round of the FIA World Touring Car Championship in Morocco.
