Jack Goff knows pressure is on with Triple Eight drive

Triple Eight Racing’s new recruit Jack Goff is relishing his opportunity with a works team but is aware that the pressure is now on him to put in the results.

Goff will join forces with 2013 champion Andrew Jordan at the extremely successful MG team, who took manufacturers’ honours from Honda in 2014.

“I’m definitely looking forward to it, its a good opportunity for me to show what I can do,” Goff told TouringCarTimes. “I definitely want to help MG retain the constructors championship, obviously BMW have been announced in the constructors championship now as well so it just got slightly harder. There’s four of us fighting for it but we stand a really good chance.”

The 24-year-old, who has previously raced for Tony Gilham Racing and Team BMR, has a best result of second, which he took in the final round of the 2013 season, his debut year in the series. However, he knows that joining a team with the pedigree of Triple Eight Racing means that strong results will be expected of him.

“The team have already proven what they can do so the pressure’s on me to go out there and prove what I can actually do on the track,” continued Goff. “We’ve done a fair bit of testing, it’s quite a bit different to what I’m used to but the times are looking positive so it’s looking pretty promising for the first round. I want to be fighting for podiums and the front row on the grid from the first weekend.

“We don’t know where we’re going to be until we get there, we don’t know what anyone’s been doing over the winter so we won’t have a real idea until we get to Brands Hatch where we’ll be throughout the year.”
