Marco Wittmann tops morning test at Oschersleben

Reigning champion Marco Wittmann showed this morning his appetite for competition, being fastest at the first testing session held in Motorsport Arena Oschersleben.

The Team RMG driver registered a best time of 1:20.059 around the German circuit, completing 71 laps in his BMW M4 DTM.

Mercedes’ Robert Wickens was second, just 0.074 seconds away from Wittmann’s time, with António Félix Da Costa in third.

BMW’s rookie Tom Blomqvist was fourth fastest, just 0.286 seconds off the pace, with Gary Paffett right behind him in the Euronics C63 DTM run by ART Grand Prix.

Maximilian Götz was the busiest driver on track, clocking a total of 90 laps, with a best time of 1:20.982.

Audi’s Nico Müller was the fastest man for the Neuburg manufacturer, with team mate Edoardo Mortara experiencing technical problems, only able to do 12 laps in his RS 5 DTM.
