Fredrik Larsson baffled by lack of pace

Last year’s STCC runner-up Fredrik Larsson qualified fifth ahead of the first STCC race of 2015 and was baffled by the lack of pace.
”We haven’t got anything concrete on it, the car felt ok but we were just too slow on new tyres,” said Larsson.

The BMW driver was close to five tenths from pole in Q1 and just over three tenths in Q2, a result Larsson was not happy with.

”We did of course aim higher than fifth but we are going to make the most of the race day. We’ll just have to hope that we have a good car in the race and get to work,” said Larsson.

The WestCoast Racing driver started last year’s season strongly and headed the championship for the first part, before falling back and was beaten by Thed Björk in the end. Despite the tough start to the 2015 season, Larsson is aiming to improve his championship position by one this year.

”If we can start the year just as strong as last year and get some help from Göransson and Andersson to steal points from Björk, then I think we can get him,” said Larsson.
