Emma Kimiläinen ”speechless” over new podium finish

Emma Kimiläinen scored her second podium finish of the 2015 STCC season in the final race of the Mantorp Park twilight event.
”I am speechless, this was a bit of a surprise but I am so very happy,” said Kimiläinen after the race.

The PWR Racing driver qualified a strong fifth for the first race, but dropped two positions to finish seventh.

The second race saw Kimiläinen staying out of trouble and climbing steadily to cross the line in third behind the Volvo Polestar Racing duo of Fredrik Ekblom and Thed Björk.

”I am so happy to be able to follow up the podium at Anderstorp with this. I can just establish that it pays off to just do your own race some times,” said Kimiläinen.

The result means that the Saab driver has moved up to sixth in the championship, past her team mate Daniel Haglöf, just five points behind four time STCC champion Richard Göransson. The next race is in two weeks at Falkenberg where Kimiläinen scored her first ever STCC podium finish last year.
