Seven penalties at Croft, West Surrey Racing docked points

Seven penalties have been handed out after the weekend’s action at Croft, with West Surrey Racing docked points in both the constructors and teams championships for exceeding the number of permitted engine changes in each of their three cars.

WSR lose 30 points in the constructors championship while in the teams championship, the penalties are split between their two entries. Team IHG Rewards Club lose 10 points and Team JCT600 with GardX lose 20 points.

On the track, Team BMR’s Aron Smith was given an 0.5 second penalty in race one after an incident with Power Maxed Racing’s Josh Cook, which reversed the pair’s finishing positions.

Also in race one, Speedworks Motorsport’s Tom Ingram was given an official reprimand and two penalty points on his licence for an incident with Triple Eight Racing’s Jack Goff.

In race two, Team Parker Racing’s Alex Martin was given an official reprimand and two penalty points for an incident with Eurotech Racing’s Jeff Smith. As it is his third strike of the season, he will start from the back of the grid in the first race at Snetterton.

Also in race two, Support Our Paras Racing’s Derek Palmer Jr was given a verbal warning for an incident with JWT Performance’s Stewart Lines, while Eurotech Racing’s Martin Depper was given a verbal warning for contact with another car in race three.

An engine penalty was also handed out to Tony Gilham Racing, who were docked 10 points for exceeding the maximum number of engine changes in Kieran Gallagher’s Toyota Avensis.

No action was taken over the clash between Honda Racing Team’s Gordon Shedden and West Surrey Racing’s Rob Collard in race two.
