Teamwork aiming to build on strong Korea pace with upgrades

Teamwork Motorsport’s Alex Hui grabbed the squad’s second consecutive pole position in the China Touring Car Championship’s Cup class in South Korea last weekend. Hui was also fastest of all drivers in qualifying, therefore scoring also the team’s first overall pole in the Citroën C-Elysée, and hopes a mid-season upgrade package will help bring them stronger results in the last half of the season.

The team dropped to just one car for the meeting with the second car back at base receiving the new upgrade package, and was one of the few teams to make the venture to South Korea for the fourth round of the season.

Hui set the fastest time ahead of Kia’s Larry Lin Le Feng, but with the 2.0 litro turbo class cars positioned behind the 1.6 turbo class at back of the grid, Hui started the race from ninth but quickly climbed to fourth before a technical problem sidelined the Hong Kong driver.

“This was my first pole position in the China Touring Car Championhip and it was a great effort from the Teamwork Motorsport guys,” said Hui. “Samuel (Hsieh) and Sunny (Wong) have done a great job in developing the car in the three previous rounds and it is certainly getting better with each passing round.

“We had a travel visa problem this weekend so we were short on manpower. We even asked for help from our rivals teams, so big thanks to them. It was another unlucky weekend for us, but we hope we can improve our cars with the new mid-season upgrades.”
