Pfister Racing planning Citroën ETCC entry

Pfister Racing are planning to enter a Citroën C2 Super 1600 in the FIA European Touring Car Cup, in a bid to replicate the French manufacturer’s success in the FIA World Touring Car Championship.

The German team, led by Single Make Trophy driver Andreas Pfister, already use a C2 in the ADAC Procar Series, and are now hoping to field the car on the European stage in the final three events of the year at Pergusa, Brno and Zolder.

Italian driver Antonio Citera, a regular in the team’s Chevrolet Cruze Eurocup programme, plans a wildcard entry at his home race in Sicily, the season finale, but Pfister says the car will be available for the remaining two events of the championship.

“It’s not sure at the moment if things will work out with Antonio for Pergusa but we’re talking to sponsors,” said Andreas Pfister. “The car would be very competitive in the Super 1600 division and took the win in the ADAC Procar series with Thomas Mühlenz some years ago. Our aim is to carry over Citroën’s success in the WTCC to the ETCC Super 1600 class.”

Applications are open to enjoy the experience at the wheel of the Citroën C2 Super 1600 on Pfister Racing’s website.
