Fredrik Lestrup fined 1000 € for driving with a puncture

ADAC Procar championship leader Fredrik Lestrup suffered from a puncture two laps from the end of the second race at the Salzburgring, something he was fined for.

The Swede fought for the lead with Milenko Vukovic when he got a puncture. Lestrup decided to drive the last two laps with a punctured tyre rather than pitting, something the stewards fined him 1000 € for.

”(I) lost the lead in the start to Vukovich and we had a 10 lap battle and I managed to overtake and pull away. But I was hindered by a puncture and had to finish the race with a flat tire. Strange rules here in Austria meant I had to pay 1000€ penalty fee for driving with a flat tire…” wrote Lestrup on his Facebook page.

Lestrup dropped to fourth position in the race, securing enough points to keep his championship lead with 20 points over main rival Heiko Hammel who finished second in the second race today.
