Jack Perkins confirmed to replace James Courtney this weekend

Endurance co-driver Jack Perkins has been confirmed to replace the injured James Courtney in the V8 Supercars races at Sydney Motorsport Park this weekend.

Courtney was injured in a freak accident where pit equipment became airborne during a helicopter show, as we reported about previously.

The Holden Racing Team driver has fractured two ribs and sustained a pneumothorax, a small pocket of air between the ribs and lungs.

This means that Perkins will make his debut for Holden Racing Team as substituting regular driver in the V8 Supercars. Perkins drove for Charlie Schwerkolt Racing last year, finishing 23rd overall behind the wheel of a Ford Falcon.
