Rob Austin Racing has TBL suspended

Rob Austin Racing has had one of their TOCA BTCC licences (TBLs) suspended as the series organisers did not accept Hunter Abbott’s withdrawal from the races at Knockhill as force majeure.

Abbott missed the races as his wife went into labour and the team had failed to secure a replacement driver. The following statement was released by the BTCC organisation earlier today:

”Due to the withdrawal from the Knockhill Championship Meeting of Car No. 54 (Exocet AlcoSense) under extenuating circumstances, the Administrator has suspended the TBL associated with that entry for the balance of the season. The entry remains valid for the remaining Championship Races.”

This means that Rob Austin Racing has got to re-qualify to keep their license for two more years and should they miss one race further, they will lose it.

Welch Motorsport and Pro Performance (Support Our Paras Racing) have both already had one of their licences withdrawn after missing races this season.
