Audi boss Wolfgang Ullrich banned from remaining DTM races

The German Motorsport Association (DMSB) has banned Audi Motorsport head Dr Wolfgang Ullrich from attending the remaining DTM races this year, and has also suspended Timo Scheider from this weekend’s races in Moscow.

The DMSB has also fined the German manufacturer 200,000 EUR following the controversial crash at the Red Bull Ring earlier this summer.

Ullrich gave Audi driver Timo Scheider the order to ”schieb ihn raus” which translates to “push him out”. Scheider then crashed into Mercedes’ Robert Wickens who hit manufacturer colleague Pascal Wehrlein, sending them both into retirement.

Audi has also been stripped of the manufacturers points (62) gained in the second race at Red Bull Ring and the provisional results from the race, which included the exclusion of Scheider, have been confirmed.

The 200,000 EUR fine will be used by the DMSB for youth development and safety projects.

Audi has waived their right to protest against the decision.
