Antonio Giovinazzi confirmed by Audi as replacement for Timo Scheider

Audi has confirmed Antonio Giovinazzi as replacement driver for the excluded Timo Scheider in this weekend’s races at Moscow Raceway.

The 21-year-old is currently leading the European Formula 3 Championship and will for this race weekend only drive double DTM champion Scheider’s car, as we reported yesterday, with the German being excluded after the controversial crash at the Red Bull Ring.

Giovinazzi comes from a karting background and won the Formula Pilota China in 2012 before moving on to the British Formula 3 International Series in 2013 where he finished second overall.
