Polestar Cyan Racing completes ”promising” tests for 2016 WTCC

Polestar Cyan Racing has completed a series of tests outside of Sweden in preparation for the 2016 FIA World Touring Car Championship season, tests they describe as promising.

”We have taken steps forward with the car from our initial tests. This is of course very early days yet, but what I have experienced so far is really promising,” said Thed Björk, development driver of Polestar Cyan Racing.

The Swedish outfit had three drivers on site, Thed Björk, Fredrik Ekblom and Robert Dahlgren as development drivers. The team has not yet confirmed the final drivers for the 2016 season, but stated that the identities will be revealed ”before the end of 2015”.

The tests were held in Italy and Polestar Cyan Racing team manager Fredrik Wahlén states that the development work is going according to plan.

”We have been able to complete our test schedule according to plan and without any major problems so far, providing us with a lot of answers to the questions we have. The development phase is still in the early stages where we are currently creating a foundation for our WTCC assault. We have the majority of development work still ahead of us, but it is of course rewarding to start our test programme in a positive manner,” said Wahlén.

Polestar Cyan Racing will run two Volvo S60 Polestar TC1 cars in the 2016 WTCC and has stated their intention to expand to further cars in 2017.
