Craig Lowndes will miss Bathurst 12 Hours after motorcycle accident

Craig Lowndes is going to miss the Bathurst 12 Hours after breaking his collarbone in a motorcycle accident.

“Obviously I’m very disappointed to be missing the 12 Hour but my focus is on being fully recovered and ready to go for the V8 Supercar season, which I am on course to do,” said Lowndes.

The Triple Eight Race Engineering driver was supposed to drive an Audi R8 with Garth Tander and Steve McLaughlan at Bathurst on February 5-7th.

Lowndes’ next scheduled drive is the V8 Supercars pre-season testing at the end of February.

“He will undergo surgery, speeding up the recovery process to ensure he is fully fit for the up-coming V8 Supercars Championship season which will begin with testing in late February when he will steer his brand new Holden Commodore for the first time,” read a statement issued by Triple Eight Race Engineering.
