Craig Lowndes unveils new livery for 2016 season

Australian racing legend Craig Lowndes is going to run a new TeamVortex livery for the 2016 V8 Supercars season.

“I couldn’t have asked for a better team around me heading into the 2016 V8 Supercars Championship. Both the team and I have a brilliant relationship with Caltex, so I couldn’t have been happier when I found out I’ll be driving the TeamVortex Holden,” said Lowndes.

Team mates Jamie Whincup and Shane van Gisbergen will run the regular Triple Eight Race Engineering livery with Caltex as a secondary sponsor.

“We’re extremely pleased to have Caltex step up for 2016 and beyond with the creation of TeamVortex,” said Roland Dane, owner of Triple Eight Race Engineering.

Lowndes, who has undergone surgery for his injured collarbone following a motorbike accident, will continue driving with endurance co-driver Steven Richards this season, with the duo hoping to repeat the success at Bathurst from last year.

“I’m really looking forward to getting on track and getting the 2016 season started at the Clipsal 500. Hopefully Steve Richards and I will be able to bring home the Bathurst trophy again later in the year, and really give Caltex and all our other sponsors a debut season to remember,” said Lowndes.
