New Touring Car Endurance Series to be started in 2016

The organiser behind the 24H SERIES is going to start an endurance series for touring cars in 2016 under the name of TCES, Touring Car Endurance Series powered by Hankook.

“Touring cars have always been an important factor in our races and the initiative for the inaugural 24H Dubai, which eventually led to what is now known as the 24H SERIES powered by Hankook, came from some touring car enthusiasts,” said Helen Roukens of Creventic, the company behind the series.

The series organiser has applied for approval to the FIA and is planning to host three races this year at Silverstone, Slovakia Ring and Meppen in Germany.

”The very positive feedback we received after the announcement of the Hankook 24H Silverstone as a race only for touring cars inspired us to look for other opportunities, which we found at the Slovakia Ring and in Meppen. Many teams asked us whether it would be possible to establish a separate series for touring car endurance races, which is what we did,” said Roukens.

The series will be divided into two divisions, with Division 1 being ”Group Diesel” and Division 2 consisting of cars from TCR, FIA Group A, Group N, Silhouette Cars, BMW M235i Racing Cup and more.
