James Golding confirmed as final endurance driver for Volvo

James Golding has been confirmed for Volvo in the V8 Supercars endurance races this year.

Golding currently races for Wilson Security Racing GRM in the Dunlop Series and claimed his first victory at Phillip Island earlier this month.

The 20-year-old joins David Wall as co-driver in the Volvo team with team manager Garry Rogers not yet revealing the pairings with regular drivers Scott McLaughlin and James Moffat.

“I do not think it matters who races with who at this stage and over the next few months both Golding and David will be in and out of both #33 and #34 cars,” said Rogers to supercars.com.

“Both cars are identical in regards to build, except for a slightly different seating position. David offers great experience considering the laps that he has not only done in a Supercar, but of course the 2015 season in the Volvo. Golding is obviously young but he did a very creditable job in the 250-kilometre Dunlop Series race at Bathurst last year.”
