Shane van Gisbergen penalised for Garth Tander incident

Shane van Gisbergen has been penalised for careless driving in the second V8 Supercars race of the Winton weekend.

The Triple Eight Race Engineering driver collided with Holden Racing Team driver Tander after a safety car restart.

Both were able to continue, but the stewards deemed Van Gisbergen guilty of the incident and will get ten points taken away in the drivers’ championship.

Van Gisbergen remains in fifth position in the championship, 86 points behind championship leader and reigning champion Mark Winterbottom.
