Kris Richard wins Nürburgring Race 2 and moves to second in standings

Rikli Motorsport’s Kris Richard won the second race of the day at the Nürburgring Nordschleife in his Honda Civic TCR, finishing ahead of the two Krenek SEAT Leóns of Christjohannes Schreiber and Petr Fulín.

The Swiss driver’s third win of the season equalled Fulín’s tally, with both drivers now having won three races each from the six races of the 2016 European Touring Car Cup to date, with Richard now just six points behind Fulín heading to the next round of the championship in Vila Real on June 26th.

Fabio Mota finished fourth for Lema Racing, with Teddy Clairet the best-placed of the Sébastien Loeb Racing Peugeots in fifth.

Nicklas Mackschin bounced back from trouble in Race 1 to win Race 2 comfortably, with his Ravenol Team Ford Fiesta finishing over 20 seconds clear of Andreas Rinke’s Peugeot 207.

Five drivers failed to make the start of race two, with Ulrike Krafft ruled out after a crash in qualifying, and with Ravenol’s Kseniya Niks, Zengo Motorsport’s Norbert Nagy and Lema Racing’s Igor Stefanovski all unable to start following damage in Race 1, while ETH Tuning’s David Griessner wasn’t allowed to start due to a noise issue with his Peugeot 207 Sport.
