SEAT to run ”three to four” TCR cars in 2017 STCC

SEAT Dealer Team PWR Racing confirmed plans to enter three to four cars in the 2017 STCC during today’s press conference in Stockholm where the switch to TCR regulations was announced.

”We are aiming for three to four cars on the grid. We have a long term cooperation with PWR Racing and we are delighted to get TCR regulations already next year,” said Per Brinkenberg, brand manager of SEAT Sweden.

SEAT returned to the STCC for this season, running three cars for drivers Johan Kristoffersson, Emma Kimiläinen and Daniel Haglöf.

Present alongside SEAT Sweden at the press conference was TCR boss Marcello Lotti who was delighted over today’s announcement.

“We are delighted to add this extra jewel to the TCR crown. And it is one of the brightest. The Scandinavian countries have always had a solid tradition of strong touring car championships. I am sure that a lot of fans fondly remember the Super Touring years in the nineties and, more recently, the seasons that featured the Super 2000 cars. We will be working together to build a series that is at least as successful as those were,” said Lotti.
