Johan Kristoffersson wins opening Anderstorp race for SEAT

Johan Kristoffersson won a static first STCC race at Anderstorp for SEAT, heading the field from pole position to win by two seconds over Volvo driver and championship leader Robert Dahlgren.

Kristoffersson was on his own in the lead, with Dahlgren eight seconds ahead of Polestar Cyan Racing team mate Richard Göransson in third.

Dacia Dealer Team driver Mattias Andersson made the best start of the field and was third into the first corner. But just two corners later, Göransson made his move at the end of the long straight to reclaim third position.

Andersson finished fourth ahead of Flash Engineering driver Björn Wirdheim in fifth. SEAT’s Daniel Haglöf rounded off the top six, with the Flash Engineering duo of Reuben Kressner and Linus Ohlsson in seventh and eighth position respectively.

Emma Kimiläinen and Prince Carl Philip Bernadotte both had to pit, Kimiläinen due to rear body work of her SEAT coming off and Bernadotte due to a flat spot.

The result means that Dahlgren extends his championship lead over Göransson from 15 to 18 points, while Kristoffersson is 42 points behind in third.

Race two starts at 16:05 CET.
