Fabio Mota fastest in final practice in Vila Real

Lema Racing’s Fabio Mota was fastest of all in the final practice session ahead of qualifying for the fourth round of the 2016 European Touring Car Cup in Portugal, leading team-mate Igor Stefanovsky by just nine-hundredths of a second.

The Portuguese driver’s best lap of 2:04.831 in his SEAT León TCR was good enough to keep him ahead of Stefanovsky, with Manuel Pedro Fernandes third quickest, after he’d led both the test sessions on Friday.

Championship leader Petr Fulín was fourth fastest in the Krenek SEAT León TCR, with Norbert Nagy fifth quickest in his SEAT León Cup Racer.

Peter Rikli was the best-placed non-SEAT, setting the sixth fastest time in his Honda Civic TCR, just ahead of Christjohannes Schrieber, Fulín’s team-mate.

Niklas Mackschin was fastest of the Super 1600 class drivers in ninth overall ahead of Czech driver Tomas Koreny.

Qualifying takes place at 16:20 WEST.
