ETCC newcomer Pierre-Etienne Chaumat tops first Magny-Cours test

JSB Compétition driver Pierre-Etienne Chaumat topped the first test session of the FIA European Touring Car Cup weekend at Magny-Cours, outpacing title contender Petr Fulin by a mere 0.011 seconds in his first ever ETCC session.

Christjohannes Schreiber and Mladen Lalusic made it a SEAT top four, 0.332 and 1.509 seconds from the top time respectively.

Honda veteran Peter Rikli claimed the final time in the top five, just 0.085 seconds behind SEAT driver Laulsic.

Fábio Mota claimed position six ahead of championship leader Kris Richard who was over seven seconds from the top time.

Fastest of the S1600 drivers was class championship leader Niklas Mackshin, with fellow Ford driver Tomas Koreny half a second slower as Peugeot driver Kevin Hilgenhövel rounded off the top ten.

The ETCC weekend in France continues tomorrow with Free Practice 1 at 09:25 CET.
