Andrew Jordan eager to challenge for wins

Andrew Jordan says he will be disappointed not to challenge for wins and podiums when the BTCC season resumes this weekend at Snetterton.

The Motorbase Performance driver leads the Independents Championship at the half way stage of the season and is also well placed in the overall standings, with his Pirtek-backed Ford Focus lying in fourth place overall.

Having only failed to score once this season, and having ended his winless run at Thruxton, Jordan will now aim to strengthen his title challenge during the trip to Norfolk and he isnsited that his target was clear.

“Finally the break is nearly over and we can go racing again!” he said. “In a way it’s good to have the break so we can all catch our breath before going into the busy second half. We had a good test at Snetterton for the Dunlop tyre test and made some good progress with the car so I am very confident we can really hit the ground running at this weekend.

“We really need to ramp up the pressure for the Championship now whilst remaining consistent which is the most important thing. I’m feeling very relaxed and confident and I am really up for the title fight for the remaining five race weekends. My aim for Snetterton is wins and podiums. I will go home disappointed if we don’t achieve this.”
