James Thompson continues with Münnich Motorsport in Argentina

James Thompson will continue to be behind the wheel of the Münnich Motorsport-prepared Chevrolet Cruze in the World Touring Car Championship races in Argentina next weekend.

“We are happy to continue with James in Argentina as René (Münnich) is busy in Canada,” said team manager Dominik Greiner.

Autódromo Termas de Río Hondo will be the fifth race weekend of 2016 that the Brit replaces team owner and driver René Münnich, who is busy driving in the World Rallycross Championship. Thompson finished 11th in both of the races last time out in Portugal.

”In Vila Real we were a bit unlucky during the Qualifying Q2, therefore our race position was not reflecting our true performance. But together with James we learned a few more tricks during both hot races which hopefully will help us during the warm weekend in Termas too. The first part of the 2016 FIA WTCC summer break is nearly over and we are more than enthusiastic to return to race action soon on this nice race track in Argentina,” said Greiner.

The WTCC race weekend in Argentina starts on August 6th.
