Johan Kristoffersson: ”It shouldn’t happen”

Johan Kristoffersson looked set for a strong STCC weekend at Karlskoga after claiming pole position by four tenths of a second. But the SEAT left the two races with only four points.

The first race had the 2012 champion claiming the lead, but only for three corners before he spun off track as a wheel came off.

”I don’t really know why it happened, but that shouldn’t happen really,” said Kristoffersson to nwt.se.

Kristoffersson made a strong start in the second race, only to spin three laps from the end while in second place due to a tyre separation.

”It was really disappointing. But that’s the case some weekends, things just didn’t go our way,” said Kristoffersson.

The SEAT Dealer Team PWR Racing driver is still third in the championship, 61 points from championship leader Richard Göransson, but will not take part in the coming STCC race at Solvalla due to a clashing world rallycross round.

”We must try to get a strong end to the season and hopefully get some more points at Knutstorp,” said Kristoffersson.
