BMW takes on additional weight for Race 2 in Moscow

The BMW M4 DTMs will take on five kg of performance weight for today’s Race 2 at the Moscow Raceway, after their performance in qualifying.

Marco Wittmann’s pole position lap of 1:28.776 was also the best ideal lap of any of the BMW Motorsport drivers, becoming the reference register for the performance weight calculations.

Standings leader Robert Wickens set the best ideal lap for Mercedes AMG, with a time of 1:29.150, with Miguel Molina clocking the best ideal lap for Audi Sport, with a register of 1:29.170.

With these results, BMW’s best ideal lap is a 0.2% faster than its competitors, meaning that the M4 DTMs will take on five kg, taking their new base weight to 1,115kg.

Both Audi Sport and Mercedes AMG lose five kg each, with the RS 5 DTMs now on a base weight of 1,117.5 kg, whilst the C63 DTMs will be on 1,127.5 kg.

The start of Race 2 is scheduled for 13:13 local time.
