Paul Di Resta penalised for slow zone infringement

Mercedes AMG driver Paul Di Resta has received a drive-through penalty for not respecting the slow zone during Race 2 today at the Moscow Raceway.

The slow zone was originated when on lap 32 Di Resta and BMW driver Timo Glock collided at Turn 3, with the German ending in the gravel trap and out of the race. The Scot would receive a drive -through penalty during the race for the incident.

Later the stewards, with GPS data in hand, found Di Resta responsible for going too fast in subsequent slow zone deployed as Glock’s car was recovered. As the incident was investigated after the race, the penalty handed to the number 3 driver was adding 30 seconds to his total race time.

Di Resta had crossed the line in 20th position, and the penalty will demote him to 23rd and last.
