Craft-Bamboo have long night ahead to repair James Nash’s SEAT

Craft-Bamboo Racing have started work to repair the SEAT León TCR of James Nash after the British driver crashed out on his first lap in the last part of testing at Buriram at the fastest corner of the track.

The 30-year-old, who lies third in the drivers’ championship, seven points behind Stefano Comini, had a problem under braking at Turn 3, the corner at the end of the longest straight on the circuit, and ploughed into the barriers at high-speed, just able to knock the car into a half-spin and head in rear-end first.

“I carried all the speed into the barrier, the only thing I did manage to do was get it rotated so it went in rear ways,” said Nash, who was winded but uninjured after the accident, saying the main thing he felt was “disappointed.”

“For me, it felt like it’s destroyed, it was such a big hit, it feels like (it needs a new) shell. The only thing the guys say is that at least it went in backwards, so even if the chassis is bent they can at least rebuild the rear.”
