Aaren Russell returns as co-driver to Andre Heimgartner

Aaren Russell is back in the V8 Supercars as co-driver to Lucas Dumbrell Motorsport driver Andre Heimgartner for this year’s endurance races.

“It’s great to be able to give another young driver an opportunity to compete on the big stage, I believe Aaren will work well with Andre over the PIRTEK Endurance Cup,” said team owner Lucas Dumbrell.

Russell drove for Erebus Motorsport until the Townsville 400 race due to a contractual dispute.

”I’m really looking forward to jumping back aboard a V8 Supercar again. I would love to sit here and tell everyone that I don’t miss driving them but that’s far from the truth. I’ve been edging to get back into a V8 Supercar from the minute I stopped, so I’m pretty pumped to be honest!” said Russell.

The first endurance race of 2016 take place on September 18th with the Sandown 500.
