Chris van der Drift confirmed as Erebus Motorsport co-driver

Chris van der Drift will make his V8 Supercars debut in this year’s endurance races for Erebus Motorsport alongside Shae Davies.

“I am over the moon to have signed with Erebus, it has been a dream for many years to try and secure a drive and this is a great way for me to get my feet in the water,” said Van der Drift.

“I am really looking forward to working with the guys in the team and the first race can’t come quick enough.”

The Kiwi has raced single seaters in Europe and most recently claimed the 2016 Porsche Carrera Cup Asia title.

“We are very excited to have him as part of the team, Chris is well regarded around the world and brings a lot of experience to the table. “I’ve heard his name mentioned to me by many highly regarded drivers, including Craig Baird who came second to him in the Asian Carrera Cup last year. Greg Murphy then introduced me to Chris at Sydney Motorsport Park last month and couldn’t speak highly enough about his credentials and professionalism,” said Erebus Motorsport General Manager, Barry Ryan.
