TCR Germany champion Josh Files could get Macau call-up with Target

Josh Files could be making his second appearance in two years at Macau next month. The Briton been added to the entry list to this year’s Guia Race 2.0T in a Honda Civic TCR for Target Competition, with the team working to formally confirm his entry.

The 2016 TCR Germany champion made his TCR series debut at the Macau circuit last year, on that occasion driving for Campos Racing in their Opel Astra OPC.

The 25-year-old has been entered by Target, who are working on finalising his return to the famous street circuit with the team and the car which took him to the inaugural TCR Germany series title this year.

Target are also defending their Guia Race of Macau title, after Stefano Comini won the race for them last year on his way to the 2015 drivers’ championship.

Should Files be confirmed, he would take the place of Dutch driver Loris Hezemans on the entry list in the #50 Honda Civic TCR. Files would be the third British driver entered for the race in addition to current BTCC driver Adam Morgan, and TCR International Series championship leader James Nash.
