Aku Pellinen and Enrico Bettera share pole positions in Monza

Aku Pellinen took pole position for the first race of TCR Italy in Monza, at the wheel of an MM Motorsport Honda Civic TCR. The Finn was not able to repeat the feat in the second session though, as Enrico Bettera took the second pole position for Pit Lane Competizioni in his SEAT León.

The two will share the front row in both occasions, with the Finn ahead in the first heat and the Italian in Race 2. Samuele Piccin and Romy Dall’Antonia, who share the same León, will start from third in Race 1 and 2 respectively. Andrea Bacci was fourth in his Alfa Romeo Giulietta Quadrifoglio, which races in the TCT class, while Daniele Cappellari will fill the second row in Race 2.

New TCR Italy champion Roberto Colciago switched to the TCS class this weekend, taking pole position for the first race. The AGS driver suffered from electronics issues in the second part of qualifying, handing pole position to SEAT driver Alberto Bassi in the TCS class.

Former Superstars Series front runner Luigi Ferrara, who makes his debut in the series at the wheel of a Top Run Subaru WRX STi, had to sit in the pits for qualifying due to an engine problem. The team are working hard to fix the Japanese car in time for the races.

Race 1 is scheduled for 10.50 local time, while the second will start at 14.30. Both races will last 25 minutes + 1 lap for the season finale.
