Loïc Duval gets DTM test opportunity with Audi

Audi Sport World Endurance Championship driver Loïc Duval is among a host of drivers who’ve been called up for the DTM’s young driver tests in Jerez next week with Audi.

The Frenchman, a winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the WEC drivers’ championship title back in 2013, has been left without a drive after the manufacturer’s withdrawal from the series at the end of this season.

Dutchman Nick de Vries, South African Kelvin van der Linde and American driver Dion von Moltke have also beed called-up by Audi. The reference drivers at the test will be Jamie Green and René Rast, the latter having stood in for Mattias Ekström at the season finale in Hockenheim.

Both Ekström and Green will also be on track with the 2017 DTM prototype which is being developed to the new technical regulations.

The track in southern Spain will host the tests from the November 29th to December 2nd.

Mercedes AMG GT and Formula E driver Maro Engel, and European Formula 3 runner up Maximilian Günther will be present for the Stuttgart-based manufacturer, with BMW Motorsport fielding Formula 3 drivers Joel Eriksson and Ricky Collard.
