TCR China series launched in Shanghai

A five-race TCR China series was launched today at the Auto Sport Industry Expo in Shanghai, run by the same promoter as the China Touring Car Championship, Shanghai Lisheng Racing Co. Ltd.

Two of the five events will pair with the TCR Asia series, while the penultimate race meeting will take place at the Zhejiang International Circuit along with the TCR International Series.

A non-championship invitational round will also take place at Macau on November 19th, ahead of the season finale at the Guangdong International Circuit, which will take place on December 31st.

“I am thrilled by the fact that a TCR China series will kick off next year,” said TCR promoter Marcello Lotti. “I am especially grateful to Shanghai Lisheng Racing for being able to give concrete form to the idea that together we have pursued over the last two years. The fact that such a successful promoter has decided to join the ever-increasing TCR family makes us extremely proud.”
