James Kaye to race in Dubai and will debut the Audi RS 3 LMS

EAU-based CadSpeed Racing will be the first team to run the all-new Audi RS 3 LMS at the TCR Middle East Series curtain raiser in Dubai, as well as in the TCR class of the 24H Series.

The car will be driven by British Touring Car Championship veteran James Kaye: “It is very exciting to work in close cooperation with the people of Audi Sport,” said the former BTCC independents’ champion. “They are very keen to support us and want to collect as more data as possible to help in the final development of the car.”

A second RS 3 will be delivered to CadSpeed by mid February. “Our priority is the TCR class of the 24H Series. However, we have already been contacted by drivers who want to race in the TCR Middle East. So probably at least one of our cars will take part in the whole series.”

Kaye won the BTCC independents’ championship twice, in 1992 and 1994. The 52-year-old was subsequently hired by Honda, spending two seasons in the factory team. After his maiden overall podium in 2006 at Oulton Park, the Brit last raced in the BTCC in 2013 at the wheel of an AmD Tuning.com Volkswagen Golf in the S2000 class.
