James Kaye: “I don’t think I did something wrong”

James Kaye was right in the thick of the action during the TCR Middle East Series season start in Dubai and received a drive-through penalty in the second race while fighting for the win.

“I don’t think I did something wrong. He (Filip Sládecka) missed a gear and I got past,” said Kaye.

Kaye never took his drive-through penalty, for which he was given after making contact with Sládecka while getting past, and was given 39 seconds after the race, dropping him from third to sixth.

Despite receiving a penalty, Kaye was happy with his and team CadSpeed Racing’s debut with the new Audi RS 3 LMS.

“The Audi has a great potential. We have managed to improve it step by step during these two days and, though there is still a lot of work to do, it has proved that can already compete with the Volkswagen Golf on equal footing,” said Kaye.
