Grégoire Demoustier switches to World Rallycross, GT and TCR

Grégoire Demoustier will leave the World Touring Car championship after two seasons, and instead contest a number of programmes during 2017, racing in World Rallycross, French & European GT4 as well as the TCR International Series.

The 26-year-old Frenchman has raced for the last two years in the WTCC, first for Craft-Bamboo Racing in a Chevrolet Cruze, before switching to a Sébastien Loeb Racing-run Citroën C-Elysée WTCC last year.

His career-best result was seventh in the opening race at the Hungaroring in 2016, while team-mates Tom Chilton and Mehdi Bennani shared three victories across the season between them.

Demoustier’s racing plans were announced by DA Racing-Eurodatacar, which will contest the World Rallycross Championship with a Peugeot 208 WRX, confirming Demoustier will join them for five events.

It was also confirmed that Demoustier would race in the French and European GT4 series, as well as the TCR International Series, but with no further details available on his programme, with many TCR teams still tight-lipped around their driver line-ups.

Two of Demoustier’s World Rallycross race dates clash with WTCC events, while he’ll also be unavailable for TCR’s season opener at the Rustavi circuit in Georgia.
