Ferenc Ficza will start the season with Zele Racing

Hungary’s Ferenc Ficza will be in the 2017 TCR International Series from the start of the season, taking part in the first two round of the championship with Austrian team Zele Racing before rejoining Zengõ in their new Kia Cee’d GT from Spa.

Ficza will race for Zele Racing in their SEAT León TCR for the first two rounds in Georgia and Bahrain, before Zengõ make their TCR return with a pair of Kia Cee’d TCRs in Belgium.

“We had the opportunity to enter the International Series and have taken up the challenge,” said team principal Michael Zele. “To us everything is new, but I am sure we will learn quickly what it takes to be competitive. We are all excited to be on the grid and are looking forward to work with TCR and SEAT.”

The Zele Racing entry is marked for race-by-race guest drivers, but the team may well switch this to a permanent entry instead from the European rounds onwards.
