Esteban Guerrieri hopes to compete the full year with Campos

Argentina’s Esteban Guerrieri has stated he hopes to be able to take part in the full 2017 World Touring Car Championship season, after being confirmed so far for just the first five rounds.

During his debut weekend for new Citroën Total Racing team at Argentinian Super TC 2000 Championship last weekend in Buenos Aires, Guerrieri spoke to TouringCarTimes.com about his WTCC plans for this year.

“It’s a really great project, it’s always rewarding to be back racing at international level,” said Guerieri. “I’ve had a very nice experience with Campos Racing last year, and it will be a nice experience.”

“I’ve felt the same responsibility every time I got into the car, and I’ve tried to make the most of every opportunity, it’s nice to have many races onboard,” he added, referring to his full season commitments, where he will also race for the new Citroën factory team at home.

31-year-old Guerrieri mentioned there will be no time to test before first round in Marrakech on April 9th: “Simply we have no more time, the cars are ready to be shipped, so I’ll get into mine right there in Morocco”.

At the end, he expressed: “My desire is to race the full season in Campos Racing. Negotiations for that are always being worked on, we’re on them, but there’s nothing certain yet”.
