Hugo Valente fined after insulting the race stewards

Craft-Bamboo Racing’s Hugo Valente was fined 3,000 EUR for unsporting behaviour, when he insulted the stewards of the meeting in Georgia following his 30-second penalty.

The French driver was initially penalised for having passed Giacomo Altoè’s Volkswagen under yellow flags on the first lap of Race 2.

Though Valente would cross the line in second position behind team-mate Pepe Oriola, his penalty saw him demoted to ninth in the official classification.

His reaction to receiving the penalty earned him an additional fine of 3,000 EUR for “insulting the panel of stewards”, chaired this weekend by Yves Bacquelaine, in breach of Article 12.1 of the FIA International Sporting Code
