Jack Goff leads the second practice session at Donington Park

Eurotech Racing’s Jack Goff was fastest of all in the second free practice session at Donington Park, with the Honda driver finishing the session seven-thousandths of a second faster than Team HARD Volkswagen driver Jake Hill.

Goff set his best time of 1:09.876 in the final ten minutes of the session, putting the Honda Civic on top of the time sheets in a mixed session which saw a number of championship front-runners running down the back end of the field.

Goff, running in the Civic equipped with the TOCA-specification engine saw off a late challenge from Team HARD’s Jake Hill, Speedworks Toyota driver Tom Ingram, the the works Team Dynamcis Honda of Matt Neal, which all set times just under a tenth of a second from Goff’s time.

Rob Austin, who led the way throughout the middle of the session, ended up fifth quickest in his Handy Toyota Avensis, with Michael Epps sixth fastest in the second best-placed of the Volkswagen CCs.

Gordon Shedden was next up in the #52 Team Dynamics Honda, with Chris Smiley’s BTC Chevrolet, Aiden Moffat in the Mercedes and Ollie Jackson’s AmD Tuning Audi S3 completing the top ten.

The fastest of the rear-wheel drive cars was West Surrey Racing’s Colin Turkington in 15th, leading his two team-mates Andrew Jordan and Rob Collard in 16th and 17th.

James Cole was the fastest of the four Team BMR Subarus in 19th, with two-time champion Jason Plato mired down in 25th position.

Qualifying is next up and is set to take place at 15:40 BST.
