Donington Park post-race penalties confirmed

The BTCC have confirmed the raft of penalties handed out over the Donington Park race weekend, with Saturday’s pole-sitter Ash Sutton and Sunday’s Race 3 winner Gordon Shedden’s exclusions the biggest punishments.

In qualifying, Ash Sutton’s Team BMR Subaru was excluded after it was deemed to have overboosted in qualifying after securing pole position, while Team HARD Volkswagen driver Jake Hill was also excluded after his rear wing was found outside of technical tolerance.

On race day, Ciceley Mercedes driver Adam Morgan was given a 0.5 second penalty which dropped him behind Team Dynamics’ Gordon Shedden, while Motorbase Ford’s Luke Davenport was excluded and given four penalty points for ignoring yellow flags.

Power Maxed Racing’s Tom Chilton was given a verbal warning for gaining an unfair advantage against the Mercedes of Aiden Moffat.

In Race 3, the only penalty was race winner Gordon Shedden, who was excluded for failing the ride height test.
