Mat’o Homola scores pole position for Opel at Spa-Francorchamps
DG Sport Compétition driver Mat’o Homola helped secure the team’s second pole position in just a week, after setting the fastest time in qualifying at Spa-Francorchamps.
Homola set two quick laps in succession at the end of the 30-minute qualifying session just after taking over the car from co-driver Fred Caprasse.
With the best driver’s two laps averaged to calculate pole position, the pairs best combined time allows them to just pip the Comtoyou Audi RS 3 LMS of Stefano Comini and Sheldon van der Linde by two-tenths of a second, though Homola’s time alone was over a second faster than the rest of the field.
The qualifying long race gets underway at 16:55 CET, with a one-hour race in which all drivers will take part.
Final session times are shown below, not the combined times.
