Walkinshaw Racing terminate contract with Adrian Burgess

Walkinshaw Racing has confirmed a termination of their contract with team manager Adrian Burgess effective immediately, following a tough start to the 2017 Supercars season.

“It has obviously been a difficult start to the year from a racing perspective, and I came to the conclusion that a fresh start was the way forward. We appreciate Adrian’s focus and hard work over the last three years, and we wish him all the best in the future,” said team owner Ryan Walkinshaw.

“The entire team will continue to work hard and are extremely passionate about achieving success. It is not in our nature to step back from the challenges that racing in such a competitive category presents us.”

The team is currently searching for a replacement and Business Development Manager Mathew Nilsson will step into the role as Acting General Manager meanwhile.

Burgess joined the team in 2014 from Triple Eight Race Engineering.

Walkinshaw Racing drivers James Courtney and Scott Pye are currently placed 15th and 18th respectively after the first three race weekends of 2017.
