Ferenc Ficza drops to tenth in Race 1 after penalty

Zele Racing’s driver Ferenc Ficza has dropped five positions in the final classification for this afternoon’s Race 1 at Monza after being penalised by the stewards for breaking track limits.

The Hungarian driver had started the race from ninth on the grid, and went on to take the chequered flag in fifth. The race was plagued with incidents, with several drivers investigated by the stewards for infringing track limits, but only Ficza was deemed worthy of a penalty.

The stewards found Ficza responsible for cutting through the first chicane and gaining an advantage, handing the Hungarian a ten-second penalty which was added to his race distance time. As a result, the Zele Racing driver now falls to tenth position.

Comtoyou Audi driver Frédéric Vervisch, Craft-Bamboo SEAT’s Hugo Valente, DG Opel’s Mat’o Homola, Comtoyou Audi’s Stefano Comini and GE-Force Alfa Romeo driver Dusan Borkovic have all moved up one position each as a consequence of Ficza’s penalty.
