Cold weather means drivers will be more careful in Sunday’s qualifying

Following cold weather forecast, the Super TC 2000 drivers take a careful approach for the qualifying session ahead of the second feature race in Rosario.

“It’s different, you have to warm up your tires a bit more, it may get tricky, but it will be no big issue, a twisty track like this will help that,” said Facundo Chapur, of Team Peugeot Total Argentina, to TouringCarTimes.

“It will be entertaining, we took Saturday’s first practice as a reference, since it was a t a similar time,” said Juan Angel Rosso, from privateer Escudería Fela by RAM Racing.

“It will change quite a lot, it was difficult to increase temperatures in the car in practice sessions on Saturday morning. It is really special, but we can sort it out,” was Renault Sport’s Emiliano Spataro’s thoughts.

Renault Sport’s Facundo Ardusso, who claimed pole position, thought: “It will be really tough, it’s necessary to warm up the car properly. I’d say that particularly, the tires will need special attention on their temperaturas”.

“I like this, because it will be a completely different track condition, and we will need to work on this, as it takes lots of time to find a good balance,” said series champion Agustín Canapino.

“It’s fine, you’ll just need an extra installation lap, and that’s all. The tires get on temperatura much easier than a single seater,” said Citroen Total Racing’s José Manuel Urcera.

“We have a great setup in our car and a very good strategy with our tires, so Sunday qualifying will not be any kind of problem,” said Renault Sport’s Leonel Pernía.

As for Toyota Gazoo Racing Argentina, Matías Rossi told TouringCarTimes.com: “It will not be a problem, but we must improve our pace and strategy.”
