Jaap van Lagen wins the third sprint race at Zandvoort

Jaap van Lagen won the third sprint race of the day at Zandvoort, leading the race from lights-to-flag in his Certainty Racing Audi RS 3, finishing ahead of the Boutsen Ginion Honda of Tom Coronel and the DG Sport Peugeot of Aurélien Comte.

Van Lagen led the way into Turn 1, but was challenged around the outside by the again fast-starting Peugeot 308 of Aurélien Comte, with the Peugeot driver having to settle for second in the order.

Comte would be passed by both Tom Coronel’s Honda and Guillaume Mondron’s Delahaye Volkswagen by the end of the fist lap however, with Mika Morien next in the Bas Koeten Audi.

Behind their was a battle for sixth between Simon Knap in the Bas Koeten SEAT and Pepe Oriola driving for Ferry Monster.

Oriola made his way past on lap four, with Maxime Potty following him through in the Team WRT Volkswagen.

They were soon joined by Aurélien Panis, who’d been working his way through the order from 12th on the grid in the #1 Honda Civic.

Comte would move back onto the final step of the podium after passing Mondron’s Volkswagen at Hugenholtz on lap eight.

Van Lagen had built up to a 3.5 second lead over Coronel, though this dropped to 1.4 by the end of the race, with Coronel himself now under threat from Comte’s Peugeot.

Race 4 follows with the grid as Race 3’s result.
